Girl Scout Promise & Law

Girl Scout Promise

On my honor, I will try:

To serve God, and my country,
To help people at all times,
And to live by the Girl Scout Law.

Girl Scout Law

I will do my best to be
honest and fair,
friendly and helpful,
considerate and caring,
courageous and strong, and
responsible for what I say and do,
and to
respect myself and others,
respect authority,
use resources wisely,
make the world a better place, and
be a sister to every Girl Scout.

Girl Scout Sign

Is a way to let everyone know it is time to be quiet. Someone raises her right hand, all five fingers pointing up. Each person who sees this quiet sign stops talking and raises her hand until there is quiet.

Girl Scout Handshake

Is a formal way of greeting other Girl Scouts and Girl Guides. You shake hands with the left hand and give the Girl Scout sign with your right hand.

Girl Scout Motto & Slogan

Girl Scout Motto:

"Be Prepared"

Girl Scout Slogan:

"Do a good turn daily"

Friendship Squeeze & Circle

Friendship Squeeze:

Takes place in the friendship circle. When you feel your hand is squeezed, you do the same to the person next to you on your other side. Everyone is silent as the friendship squeeze is passed around the circle.

Friendship Circle:

Is when the girls stand in a circle and each girl crosses her right arm over her left. Then she holds hands with the person standing on either side of her.
